2012 LEAGUES:

T-Ball: Ages 5-6, with little or no baseball experience. Typically one one hour practice on Saturday followed immediately by a one hour game. First practice each Saturday starts at 9 AM; last games end around 2 PM

Rookie: Typically ages 6-7 with limited experience with team baseball. Typically one weekday practice and one weekend game.
A: Typically ages 7-8 with some baseball experience. One practice and 1-2 games per week. Most practices on weekdays. Most games on Saturday or Sunday.
AA: Mostly ages 9-10; some 8 year-olds with prior experience in a lower division. AA typically plays or practices 2 - 3 times a week, usually Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
AAA: Mostly ages 10 and 11. All players have experience playing in a lower division or equivalent baseball experience. Must participate in tryouts and the draft process. AAA typically plays or practices 2 - 3 times a week, usually Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and some Sundays.
Majors: Almost entirely 11 and 12 year-olds. Typically with 2 or more years of baseball in the lower divisions. Must participate in tryouts and the draft process. Majors typically plays or practices 2 - 3 times a week, usually Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and some Sundays.

Juniors: Mostly players ages 13-14. Open to 12-year-olds who are ready for play on a full-size diamond (90' bases, 60' 6" pitching rubber). On average one two hour practice and 2-3 games per week, scheduled throughout the week.
Must participate in tryouts and the draft process.

Fees:
The registration fee for Rookie, A, AA, AAA, Majors and Juniors is $325 for the first child and $190 for each sibling.
The fee consists of the following:
$190 (participation fee);
$60 (Danner Field fund -- used for Albany Little League's ongoing capital improvement projects);
$75 (work security deposit -- all families are eligible for a full refund if they complete eight volunteer hours).
The fee for T-Ball is $190 for each child. There is no work deposit.
TRYOUTS:
There are no tryouts for T-Ball, Rookie, Single-A. (Typically ages 5-9.)
All players ages 10-12 and 9 year-olds invited by Albany Little League Player Agent, must tryout to be eligible for the AAA and Majors drafts.
All players ages 8-9 and are requested to participate in a player evaluation for placement in either Single A or Double A on January 21.
The tryouts are primarily for evaluation and placement. Tryout dates are:

Majors: Saturday December 10 (Rainout Date Saturday December 17)
AAA: Sunday December 11 (Rainout Date Sunday December 18)
Juniors/Majors/AAA: Make-up January 21
8-9 Player Evaluation: January 21
Albany Little League BOUNDARY Information
Little League International requires all players to reside within boundaries. Albany Little League boundaries enclose
Southern Boundary in Berkeley (East to West): From Tilden Park along the northern UC Berkeley campus boundary to the north side of Hearst St., up the east side of Oxford St., then west along the north side of Virginia Street to I-80.
Northern Boundary in Richmond Annex/El Cerrito (East to West): From Wildcat Canyon Regional Park along the south side of Barrett Ave. to I-80.
Western Boundary is I-80
