The double A evaluations are an opportunity for the single A commissioner and double A commissioner to evaluate all eight years old and nine year old players who did not tryout for triple A. The evaluations are used to determine who is best suited for each of the divisions and to assist with establishing a competitive balance between teams when teams are formed in mid-February.
The evaluations will consist of the players warming up with a partner by playing catch for about 10 minutes. The players will then be broken down into smaller groups and sent to different stations to field ground balls and catch fly balls for about 10 minutes each. All the players will be participanting at the same time. There is no focus placed on any one player any point in time. The evaluations will last 30 minutes. League administrators and some long time coaches will be assisting with the evaluations.
