Registration For The 2021 Season Is Open
Some happy news! Registration is open for the 2021 Little League Season. The season will run from April to June 13. We’re working on the details, but we’ll probably have a week of practices first and then games…lots of games.
Most of you probably saw that Gov. Newsom announced on February 19th, right here in Alameda County, new state guidelines for youth sports. Under those new guidelines, youth baseball is now permitted to play games. We will of course follow state and local protocols such as mask-wearing, appropriate social distancing, and no sharing of equipment. (In case you’re wondering, we are permitted to throw, hit, and catch baseballs. Those aren’t considered “shared”.)
Field Help Needed
We also finally have permission to start whipping our Village Fields into shape. And they need lots of whipping! We will have work parties organized every weekend and we need your help to get the fields back in playing shape. When you enroll your ballplayer, we ask you to choose at least one of three volunteer jobs: 1) Coach 2) Umpire 3) Field Work.
This season’s registration fee will be $195 per player ($150 for University Village residents–please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for a discount code). There is no volunteer deposit this season, but we ask that you consider volunteering in one or more of these capacities: coach, field maintenance/pre-game prep, and/or as an adult umpire.
