The Rays had a good run at the Tournament of Champions, winning our first two games against Lafayette 12-2 and South Oakland 11-3.   We then took a
loss from a strong Alameda team in the Semi-final 7-1.   Along the way every player contributed in what was the Rays' trademark - 'total team effort'.
All 12 players hit safely in the tournament and turned in several excellent defensive plays.

#1 Aidan Williams scored often, played solid second base and pitched well in the third game.
#2 David Noland drove in runs, tracked down fly balls in left field and played strong at third base.
#3 Tate Hoyer hit lead-off, scored often and made nice plays at third base.
#4 Jin-Young Heo had multiple hits, played solid short stop and was the winning pitcher for game #2.
#5 Evan Mallah was on base often, played solid at the catcher's spot and tracked down everything in center field.
#6 Michael Noland hit safely in every game, was the winning pitcher in the first game and played a solid short stop.
#7 Gabriel Raulet hit well, scored and stopped everything hit to him at second base and in right field.
#8 Charley Ross drove the ball to the outfield for a triple in the third game, pitched and held down first base with some impressive glove work.
#9 Michael Bales hit well, scored runs and was a rock behind the plate, with multiple throw outs.
#10 David Barer's bat was hot. He had 3 hits in the second game and played All Star defense at first base.
#11 Rowan Craig crushed an inside to park Home Run in the first game and played solid out field through out the tournament.
#12 Stephen O'Brien hit safely in every game, scored often and was strong at third base.

Front row: Miles McCreary, Doug Hartman, Justin Maxwell, Frank Ely. Missing: Brian Bernard, Jay Gong, David Shor.

The Albany Junior League champion Beavers won the District 4 Junior League TOC with a 10-0 victory over Concord American's champion in the final. All 10 Beavers reached base safely at least once. Justin Maxwell and Avi Rosenblum both went 3-for-3, while Will Rasmussen, Nick Greco, Marco Santos, Conrad Petraborg and Jake Alaniz went 2-for-3.
The Beavers also beat champions from South Oakland (11-1) and Clayton Valley (10-4) to finish the season 18-4-1 -- a complete turnaround from 2005 when they were 2-14.

Little League
The Athletics beat Walnut Creek (3-0) and North Oakland (7-1) to advance to the championship game of the District 4 Major League TOC, where they lost to the Antioch West Pirates, 2-1.

In the TOC, the Athletics got outstanding work from 12-year-old pitchers Daniel Supple, Griffin Goetz and Orion Read and 11-year-old Isaiah Smith. Supple led the As attack with a pair of homers against North Oakland. Jacob Kermish-Wells and Sam Quady provided some clutching hitting in the wins over Walnut Creek and North Oakland.

Triple A
The Mets, the AAA champions, were the third Albany representative in the TOC. They fell to the Concord American champion (16-15) in the first round of the single-game elimination tournament.
