Out House to Penthouse
In league history, the Majors division champion with the lowest winning
percentage was the 1986 Cubs, who finished the regular season 11-9. After
a crash to last place in the first half season, and a stumbling 2-2 start
in the 2nd half, the team won nine straight. |
| Danny Coen (11) hit a first-inning-first-pitch-leadoff home run against
the Giants to start the streak. He finished the run by pitching a no-hitter
into the 6th inning of the Championship playoff
game. |

The kids continued to excel. In 1996, Tammy
played professional baseball with the all women Colorado Silver Bullets,
and David graduated from UC San Diego. In 1997, Daniel graduated from UC
San Diego. Kweli graduated from Harvard and won the
Rhodes scholarship. In 1998, Kamau graduated from
UCLA. |
