ALBANY LITTLE LEAGUE COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

Updated 02-07-2022

Masking Guidelines

ALL follows CDC and public health guidance – the current guidance can be found here:

https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/COVID-19/Face-Coverings-QA.aspx

The specific sections we are relying on are the sections governing mask wearing outdoors and unvaccinated children and youth playing outdoors even if they cannot maintain social distancing. In short, we will not be following social distancing protocols nor requiring masks. That being said, children are encouraged and welcome to wear masks during ALL activities.

NOTIFICATION AND REMEDIATION PROCEDURES:

In the event a coach or participant has any symptoms prior to a practice session, they should notify their head coach. Any player or adult volunteer with symptoms is asked not to participate in practice or game activities until they are cleared by their physician or until current CDC and health department guidance (including quarantine, testing and mask requirements) indicate that it is safe to resume youth sporting activities.

Similarly, if a player or coach is exposed to a known COVID positive case or tests COVID positive, they will be asked to follow current CDC and health department guidance on the proper quarantine period, testing and masking procedures.

Exposure notifications will also follow current public health guidance and Albany Little League will attempt to maintain confidentiality where appropriate. We are aware that public health guidance may change during the 2022 season and Albany Little League will follow all current guidance to protect our players, coaches and families. Questions about specific situations can be directed to their head coach who can seek expert clarification or additional guidance if needed.

FINAL REMINDERS:

During these times, it is imperative that any coach or participant who is experiencing symptoms, comes in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case or tests positive for COVID-19 follow these procedures and contacts the head coach of their cohort promptly.
