Safety Information

Berkeley Albany Little League (BALL) is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to providing a safe, positive, and supportive environment for youth baseball.

BALL is committed to fostering the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect — for teammates, opponents, officials, and the game itself. Through these values, the league aims to support the healthy development of children as confident, responsible, and community-minded individuals.

The league provides opportunities for players to learn and enjoy the game of baseball in an environment that prioritizes player safety, preparedness, and accountability. BALL’s safety program is designed to maintain a high level of safety awareness across all divisions, activities, and league operations.


Safety & Required Forms (2026 Season)

The following documents support league-wide safety standards and procedures:

  • 2026 Safety training page : Download a copy of the 2025 Safety Plan

  • Medical Release Form (require for all players) : Download a copy of the Medical Release Form

  • Volunteer Application Form (required for all coaches and on-field volunteers) : Download a copy of the Volunteer Application Form 

  • Injury Tracking Form (Used to document and report injuries during league activities):Download a copy of the Injury Tracking Form

BALL continually reviews and updates safety practices to align with Little League International requirements and best practices for youth sports.

How to Complete Training Through Little League University (LLU)


Volunteers complete the required Little League training through Little League University (LLU) on LittleLeague.org. To ensure training is properly credited to your league, volunteers must select the league ID: Berkeley Albany 4050423 during account setup.


Basic Steps to setup account & take trainings

1. Visit LittleLeague.org and open Little League University from the Quick Links menu.
2. Log in or create an account.
3. When creating an account, select your local league to ensure credit is recorded correctly. (Berkeley Albany 4050423)
4. From the Learner Dashboard, select ALL to view available courses.
5. Enroll in desired courses.
6. Track progress under Enrolled and My Timeline.
7. After completion, download certificates and Upload

Required Training
Abuse Awareness Training – Mandatory for all volunteers
Safety Awareness Training – Mandatory for managers, coaches, and board members.
First Aid Awareness Training – Mandatory for managers, coaches, and board members
• 2026 Resource Guide Companion Courses
To PREPARE, To PLAY and is Required for all local board members and establish best practices before and during the season. Proper completion and league selection ensure compliance, accurate reporting, and eligibility for league and district requirements.


How To Take Training:

1. On the learner dashboard screen, select the ALL tab to find a list of courses
2. Enroll in courses you wish to take.
3. Courses you enroll in will be shown in the enrolled tab.
4. Completed courses will be shown under the my timeline tab.


All members who have completed a course may download a certificate indicating the completion of a particular course. Once completed there names will be shown in a report that the District Administrator
can view.


As a reminder, the Abuse Awareness training is mandatory for ALL volunteers. The Safety Awareness Training and First Aid Training are mandatory for all managers, coaches, and board members.


In addition, the 2026 – Resource Guide Companion Course 1: PREPARE and the 2026 – Resource Guide Companion Course 2: PLAY are required of board members.
