 Moms Take the Field!

This past week, the Majors Division completed its very first Mother’s Day “Moms Coach” game — and it was an unforgettable games filled with smiles, laughter, baseball, and memories.

For one special game:
– Moms coached the teams
– Dads sat in the stands
– And the BALL community came together for a fun celebration of the amazing moms who support our players all season long

From warmups to game-time decisions, the moms stepped into the coaching roles while dads handled whatever the Coaches for the Day needed:
☕ Coffee runs
🥨 Snack duty
👟 Shoe tying
🚗 Sibling transportation
…and everything in between!

Players were encouraged to wear pink socks, belts, undershirts, shoelaces, and accessories to celebrate Mother’s Day and show appreciation for the incredible moms and mother figures in our league.

A huge thank you to all the moms who participated and helped create such a special event for our players and community ❤️⚾

From BALL to Ivy League Pitcher of the Week

Berkeley Albany Little League is proud to celebrate former BALL player Evan Kleinhans on earning Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors for Columbia University Baseball.

Evan’s baseball journey began right here in BALL, starting in T-Ball with the Rivercats before continuing through the Marlins, Hurricanes, and Seals from 2009–2017.

From:
– Rivercats (T-Ball)
– Marlins (Rookie through Majors)
– Hurricanes (Intermediate)
– Seals (Juniors)

…to now dominating on the mound in the Ivy League.

Evan earned the honor after an outstanding week that included:
🔥 9.1 innings pitched
🔥 Only 1 run allowed
🔥 7 hits allowed
🔥 5 strikeouts

He followed up Columbia’s senior weekend by delivering a spectacular 8.1 inning shutout performance against Cornell in a pivotal 2-0 victory, becoming the first Columbia starter this season to pitch into the ninth inning.

The award marks Columbia’s first Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honor since 2024.

Columbia officially clinched the fourth and final spot in the Ivy League Tournament, which will take place May 15–18. Keep an eye out for Evan as he continues his impressive season on the Ivy League stage

We love seeing BALL players continue to grow, compete, and achieve at the next levels of baseball and life.

Congratulations, Evan! The BALL family is proud of you
